So sorry to hear it's been such a difficult month; hoping October is much better for you (and the Philippines!). I can't wait to read the Ishiguro, Cohen, and Ravn novels, so I really enjoyed reading your reviews here !!
I hope I can soon! With the books I’ve read so far, he writes mostly about the faults in our memory. His tone is pretty much the same as well in every book yet I can totally differentiate the narrators in each of his book.
Wow as an American I can commiserate with the world events interrupting our writing schedule and I’m so glad to hear you are ok.
I almost forgot that we originally bonded over our love for David Mitchell, can’t wait to hear your thoughts. I just finished the wax child and also loved it! And have been meaning to read the Netanyahus but it feels way too relevant to see with any objectivity right now. Great reading month for you !
I’m so sorry that September was such a tough month! It looks like you’ve got some really great reads lined up for October! Galatea is the only Madeline miller I’ve not read too, hope it’s as good as her others!
Thanks for the review, Jam! It is heartbreaking to see the devastation in Bogo but also inspiring to see the bayanihan spirit and Cebuano grassroots DIY bootstrap mindset in action ❤️

Thank you, Regan! Only 3 Ishiguro books left to read now.
Ahh exciting!!!!!! I’ll be eager to read your thoughts on his body of work as a whole

Thank you, Natalie! Can’t wait to start the Mitchell book.
re wax child. did you also wanted to read more of Christenze’s background like I did? haha
Yes I could have read so much more about Christenze, especially after learning she was a real person!!!

We can read it together if you want!
Ah I would have loved to but it’s not at my library and I’m going to try and read some big books this October!
Ahh no worries! All good.
I hope it’s as good as Circe! Enjoy ❤️
Sorry to hear about events at home 🙏
I really hope you enjoy The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. It's a great read, my favourite of Mitchell's.
Thanks, Daniel. Cloud Atlas still tops my Mitchell books but we’ll see!

I'm so sorry you had a rough September, Jam! Sending you lots of love. ❤️
