Hello there,
Here are things worth sharing this week.
To those who said classical music is boring, listen to this playlist that will make you feel like a 19th-century villain.
The Masungi Georeserve is a conservation area in the rainforests in Rizal, Philippines. It is home to over 400 wildlife and plant species. Over the years, the reserve has received constant threats from developers, professional squatters, business people, and land grabbers wanting a piece of the land. Now, the Philippines' Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is also staking their claim to the land, which is a really super random place to build your headquarters. Plus, because of the reserve's several limestone rock formations, the reserve is totally unbuildable. So eh? Is something else at work here?
This weird but pretty plant found in Masungi Georeserve that I found in their Facebook page.
A writer's love story for the people who make up the film industry.
Oras de Peligro is an upcoming film by the renowned Filipino director Joel Lamangan. The story follows the experiences of a low-income family during the final days of the Marcos dictatorship. Lamangan doesn't shy away from saying that this film is in response to the historically distorted film "Maid in Malacañang." Lamangan and several members of the crew are martial law survivors. Watch this interview of Lamangan and actress Mae Paner.
